There are a number of network marketing complaints that people have that stops them from getting involved. Although some are legitimate reasons to stay away, some are based in myth. Network marketing can be one of the most lucrative home based businesses if you get into the right opportunity.

The Problem with Network Marketing

Most people have at one time in their lives started with an opportunity that looked good on the surface and then once they paid for their kit they received no help. They came in under a hyped up situation and realized quickly that they needed more than what they were told they needed to get started.

Other people started the program thinking that it was something they were going to get rich on and when they saw that it takes time they pulled out. They wanted something quick and easy.

Whether you are a sponsor or someone who comes into the business you have to understand that network marketing is a business.

Common Complaints

There are basically two common complaints with any network marketing program:

I was told I could make money fast. This is actually true but what you are not told by some companies is that to make money quickly you will have to work the business full time. You have to look at it as a business and you have to do whatever it takes to get things done. You have to cultivate relationships, talk to people daily and be enthusiastic about your product.

My sponsor doesn't help. Generally speaking sponsors that get into network marketing only know how to bring people into the business. They do not know what to do with them after they are in. There is also the myth that you should give up on someone who is not producing.

The Challenge For Network Marketers

The challenge for network marketers is they have to rethink what they are doing. You have to have the attitude that this is a business and that you can benefit from it if you do the business. Once other people join you, there must be time for you to teach them how to do the business.

Although we want to believe that everyone who comes in really wants to be in business for themselves but the truth is only a small portion of individuals want a business. The rest will continue to look for something they cannot find.

Is Network Marketing a Scam?

Many people are under the misguided impression that all network marketing businesses are scams. The reason they believe this is because there is so much hype around the business that they get into it because of the hype and then realize the hype was misleading.

Although there are many people who may mislead others in their pursuit of building their business, there are some who are attempting to develop a legitimate business and help other people access the same opportunity.

Network Marketing is a Business

First and foremost network marketing is a business. People come together to buy a product whether it is vitamins, travel or soap. There are thousands of opportunities today and many people make lots of money. The reason some people make money and others do not is simple: Some see it as a business, others see it as a get rich quick scheme.

If you enter a network marketing opportunity and work it as a business you will see a return. You may not get rich quick but you will get rich. It takes time to build just like any other business.

Network Marketing is a Pyramid Scheme

Pyramid Schemes were popular many years ago and many people fell for them. Many still feel for the corporate pyramid scheme. Corporations are structured so that a few people make money that are in top positions and everyone below them makes less. The top people profit from the little guys.

Network marketing is not a pyramid because everyone who enters into the business has the same opportunity to become wealthy. All they have to do is follow the formula that has been set out.

People like to call network marketing a pyramid because they get discouraged when they find out it takes a lot of work to do. They use sour grapes to say that it doesn't work and they were scammed. In reality they were not willing to do the work to produce the result they wanted.

Network Marketing Is About People

People are the foundation for network marketing and it should not be about selling anything. Instead, it should be about sharing an opportunity that you have that benefits many. If you learn to build rapport with people, get them to trust you and help them see the benefits of your business for them, you will be successful.

If you try to sell them a business, you will lose them every time.

When you first look at a network marketing opportunity most people are struck by the money that can be made. They get all excited and decide to start but they soon find out that there is more to it than just making money.

Every network marketing opportunity if done correctly is a chance to have a home based business that will eventually yield financial freedom. This happens over a period of time if you work the business.

The Key To Business is Lead Generation

Many businesses will tell you that they are successful because they know how to generate leads. Leads are easier to use than cold calling because if you find the ones that are already looking for an opportunity, you have less to do.

Some people purchase leads through Goggle and others have great systems for generating them. The more leads you have the more people you talk to and the more people will join your organization.

You must understand that generating leads is just one part of the process. You will also have to talk to people and know what to say to them when you call them to follow up on the lead.

The Key To Business is People

People do not like to be sold anything by a stranger. Because of this the way to get solid leads is to build a rapport first. By talking to people and letting them get to know you, you become someone they can trust. Once you have their trust you can find out what they need and see if you can fill the need.

Many people in network marketing make the mistake of trying to tell someone everything they could ever want to know about a business and more. The trick is to tell them a little and if they genuinely seem interested, you put them on with someone who knows more than you.

There are people in any network marketing business who have been in for a very long time. These people know the intricacies of talking to people and can help you with your calls.

When you start talking to people and they decide they want to join you in your business by creating their own business, it is very important to continue to talk to them. People have different learning curves and often the best producer will be someone who others will give up on.

The myth of network marketing is that you have to sell products in order to make it work. Although there are many sales people in network marketing and there are people who sell it like it is a product, network marketing isn't about selling.

Network marketing is about building rapport with people and helping them resolve a problem. For many people a network marketing opportunity will help them get to financial freedom. For others it will help them make a comfortable living. If done well, an individual can be very successful.

Selling and Network Marketing

Many people would say that selling is the most important aspects of network marketing and in some cases this is true but there are two aspects of an opportunity that you must take a look at to see what you need to do.

On the one hand there is a product that can be sold. People can sell vitamins, travel, soap, natural drinks and more. These products are available for sale but most people do not sell them. Instead, they show people how their product can benefit them and can help them save money.

On the other hand there is a business opportunity. Many people try to make people jump into their business by pushing them to buy the beginning kit and getting involved. Those who are successful talk to people about the opportunity and wait for it to create a spark within the prospect.

Selling should have nothing to do with network marketing if you are able to build the rapport with people and present an opportunity that they can see as something they need.

I Don't Know Enough People

No one knows the many people who will be interested in a network marketing opportunity. If they did money would be made a lot faster. However, there are hundreds of ways to generate leads and the best ways tap into people who are all-day looking for an opportunity.

Lead generation is one of the many criticisms that people have with network marketing but it does not have to be difficult. There is a system that you can use that will generate more leads than you can imagine. This system allows you to talk to only people who are already looking for an opportunity so you do not have to sell anything.

Show Your Joy as You Work Your Plan!

It takes consistent work and constant joy to travel down the path to success, and that's exactly how it should be. Working without having joy in what you do is pure drudgery. Pure joy without realizing that it often comes from hard work is immaturity. That's why it takes both in order to be successful.

You've often heard the saying "Set yourself on fire and people will come from miles away to see you burn". Well, that's what persistent work combined with true joy in your work is like...people see you as a person on fire with your dream that your hard work seems more like pure fun than anything else. Your attitude becomes contagious and influential as you make the most of your opportunity...and people always want to associate themselves with people that are alive with possibilities.

Remember that sucess is something you attract by the person you become.

How's it going these days with all the choices of Social Media at your fingertips? I'm sure you have heard by now that Twitter  has taken the world by storm, and everyone is...

Tweeting ~ Twittering ~ Twexting ~ and the list goes on and on...

Hey before I drop the goods on you today, just so you know...people in my business are using Twitter to make some serious connections that are leading to bundles of cash.

The real cool thing about Twitter is that everyone is Tweeting for FREE!

Statistics show that 40-50% of the people that you follow on Twitter will naturally follow you back in return. This means all you have to do is start following friends and you can build a huge Tweeting Community that follows each other.

You see, unlike a traditional Blog, Twitter is a bit more instant… like an online pager.

In the event you hook it up to your cellular phone it turns into one instantly!

Here are my Top 10 Golden Nuggets you can start using right now to optimize your results with Twitter:

1. Honesty is the best policy. If you're genuine you'll attract more people who want to follow you.

2. For copywriting, the three assets to an effective title are; curiosity, urgency and fear. Keep this in mind when creating your tweets.

3. Show your followers your diversity. Tweet on different topics to inspire interaction.

4. Just about anything is acceptable to share on Twitter. From links to new ideas, questions and answer to
questions... it's all good!

5. Don't make the mistake of being in the shadows. Twitter is best when used for sharing ideas with others, as often as you can.

6. Use the @ symbol before the name of a user and start getting into the many conversations all
over.

7. With such a stringent character limit, (140 per Tweet) make each word count!

8. You can use Twitter to test Blog ideas. A great tool for this is: http://search.twitter.com

9. Another great tool for Twitter is http://popurls.com. It allows you to find the most popular headlines from the top social networking communities.

10. Get to the point in your Tweets. Messages that are multi part are not as effective as straightforward one-liners.

Now that you have some of the basics down, time to open an account  if you have not yet grabbed one...

Have fun, grow a huge community of followers, and update often!

P.S. Twitter is a total no-brainer for anyone looking to "capitalize" on this online social mega trend.
