Tag: "school"

via The Prairie Rambler, February 1998

  1. Life is not fair. Get used to it. The average teenager uses the phrase "It's not fair" 86 times a day.

  2. The real world won't care as much about your self-esteem as your school does. This may come as a shock.

  3. Sorry, but you won't make $40,000 a year right out of high school. And you won't be a vice president or have a car phone, either. You may even have to wear a uniform that doesn't have a designer label.

  4. If you think your teacher is tough, wait until you get a boss.

  5. Flipping burgers is not beneath dignity. Your grandparents had a different word for burger flipping. They called it opportunity.

  6. It's not your parents fault if you mess up. You're responsible! This is the flip side of "It's my life" and "You're not my boss."

  7. Before you were born your parents were not boring. They got that way paying your bills and listening to you.

  8. Life is not divided into semesters. And you don't get summers off. Not even spring break. You are expected to show up every day for eight hours; and you don't get a new life every 10 weeks.

  9. Smoking does not make you look cool. Watch an 11-year-old with a butt in his mouth. That's what you look like to anyone over 20.

  10. Your school may be "outcome-based," but life is not. In some schools, you're given as many as times as you want to get the answer right. Standards are set low enough so everyone can meet them. This, of course, bears not the slightest resemblance to anything in real life—as you will find out.

Good luck! You are going to need it—
and the harder you work, the luckier you will get.

Start With Saying I love You

Yes Folks That's right,

Start by saying I love you, I love you, I love you ....................

If you spent your entire day and every day for a week repeating those 3 words over and over again in your mind your life will become more successful overnight.

Take a walk today for 15 minutes and say I love you to EVERY SINGLE PERSON YOU ENCOUNTER --- I can hear you now you are thinking the person that wrote this is absolutely bonkers ---------- Yea right -- I'm sure I am going to say I love You to everyone I encounter. ---

I will give you a break do it silently in your mind --- however just do it.

When you are at the grocery store checkout stand ---- Say I love you to the clerk

When you are at the gas station pumping gas --- silently look AT EVERYONE --- DON'T ELIMINATE ANYONE --- NO QUALIFYING --- silently say I Love You to everyone you see at the gas station.

When you are talking to someone on the phone ---- no matter who it is say I Love You over and over in your mind as you are listening.

This is your mantra for the next week -------------- I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU, I LOVE YOU ................ non stop.

Say it to the birds, the bees, the dogs, the ants, the spiders and your food and water.

Of course to your family and friends -- the dearest ones in your life -- please do say it out loud.

Here's an experiment --- if you have an unruly child -- look them in the eye and softly say I Love You over and over and over again for at least a minute.   Or whisper it in their ear --- not just one or 2 times ----- at least 30

Leave nothing or no one out ------------ I GUARANTEE YOU THAT YOUR LIFE WILL BE MORE SUCCESSFUL BY THE END OF THE 7 DAYS!!!!

Your Mantra is I LOVE YOU --- to the person that cuts you off on the freeway, to the annoying dog across the street, to the rowdy kids down the block ---- say I love You, I love You, I love you ............... This goes for everyone of you

I don't care if you are a hardened criminal, a pompous twit, a street person or a self made millionaire with an attitude ................. if you want more of anything in life start spreading love.

If you don't feel like you have any love to spread --- believe you me you do --- you are a love machine ---------- you are overflowing with love --- that is what our pristine self is made out of.

Look at any brand new baby - a pristine new baby ----- every cell in their being is love and nothing has changed --- you are still that baby and you are still made out of love.

It is a really a weird concept and believe me when I really contemplated love and what it is it was an incredibly mind expanding concept.

The first day of my epihany about love I did exactly what I described above and have been doing it ever since --- it has been quite a transformation for me.

Take notice of how you are feeling right now; mentally, physically, emotionally, spirtually -------- Now go take a 15 minute walk and mentally say I Love You over and over again to everyone and everything you encounter and then take notice again at the end of the 15 minutes ------------ how's it going now?   Do this with focus and intention!

Say I love You to each and  every part of your body too; especially any aches or pains you pain have --- if your arthritis hurts --- say I Love You to your painful hands and fingers --- I Love You pain, I love You fingers, I love You toes, I Love You fat hips, I Love You bald head, I Love You zits, I love you fat knees, I love you flat chest, I love you pot belly ....................

You are only limited by your imagination ---- please do this for 7 days --- it is truly astonishing!

Opportunity

When opportunity knocks, will you recognize it?  Opportunity comes in many forms.  Many times we see opportunity in our failures and our stumbles in life.  It is what we learn from our failures and stumbles that count.  Sometimes we create opportunites after a failure because we do not want that to happen to us again.  We stumble or fail at something and then we realize that we need to take steps to prevent that from happening again so we begin to search for a cure, or a way to change.

There are many opportunities that we encounter on a daily basis.  I am considering returning to school to pursue a masters degree.  I know that that opportunity is there but will that guarantee me success?  That depends.  I do not need my masters degree to be successful in my current job as they are unrelated skills but if I take advantage of the opportunity now it may well pay off in the future should I decide to change careers or pursue a second career after retirement from my current position.

I believe that there is opportunity in almost everything.  We've all heard tales about the little worker bee that advanced to become the boss or the owner of a company or business.  If you are currently employed, in most cases, I believe that advancement is possible, there is probably that opportunity if you are willing to make the sacrifices necessary to make it happen.  Those sacrifices may include changing your shift schedule, furthering your education or just mastering your current job so that you are the expert in all facets of that job.  Opportunity is almost always present.

If you are looking for a business opportunity to test your skills and knowledge but yet reap the rewards from those challenges, I am interested in giving you an opportunity that can change everything.  I need individuals that are willing to learn, work and take massive amounts of action!!!  If you believe in opportunity, this is your opportunity to change your lifestyle!!!

This is a real, legitimate business opportunity that truly rewards hard work and dedication.  What are you going to do?  Are you going to let opportunity escape and continue to say that there are no opportunities?  How are you going to make it happen?  Every opportunity that passes you by may have been the one that you needed.  Opportunity is being in the right place at the right time!!!  You are there!!!

Enter your name and email below for your free opportunity!!  It will cost you nothing but may change everything!!!

Wow!!!
